The Story Thus Far

You all know the story, you all know the tale. How the hero clad in green rose up against the ancient evil time and time again, rescuing a land from the ever-lurking darkness.

But.

But what happens when the Hero falls and when the Evil wins?

Five hundred years ago Ganondorf rose - but stayed back in the shadows. Instead of making his presence known in a bid for the triforce he settled for simply spreading dissent amongst the citizens of Hyrule. For as long as could be remembered the Royal Family had led the country but their numbers were dwindling. Hylians had founded the country but the human population had grown exponentially. Their numbers grew but the ruling power still laid in the hands of the Hylians - and why was this? Why should a handful be allowed to make the decisions for all?

And so their dissent spread. And so there was little that the Princess or the Hero could do to stop it.

There was no enemy, no evil that the Hero could fight against. Ganondorf's evil had poisoned the minds of those he was meant to protect and he would not harm those he was meant to protect. He disappeared - and the princess did as well.

Five hundred years have past. Hyrule has long since entered the technological age, abandoning its reliance on magic to turn to science. Magic, in fact, has been all but eliminated from civilization and it has been deemed a crime to attempt to study it. Hylians have been forced to go into hiding and any Hylian found is to be immediately taken to the Gerudo Royal Guards. Sheikah, Gorons, and Zora are to be killed on sight, and none of their kind has been seen for over a hundred years.

The Gerudos have replaced the Royal Family as the ruling class and Ganondorf still rules, though his presence is only known to those closest to him. And he knows that the time has come for his rule to be tested.

A shift has occurred. Two very special individuals have been born, one from the bloodline of the Hero and one from the bloodline of the Princess. Marked with the Triforce they now must gather the power to end Ganondorf's rule and restore the light to Hyrule.
