ELEMENTS AND MAGIC

Magic is a talent that has nearly died in the land of Hyrule. Only those who live in the Hidden Village still have any idea that magic still exists.
While all characters start with mana, characters must purchase spells through the shop. The only exception to this rule is the sages, each of which start with one spell. In order to gain magic spells, characters must finish plot threads to earn points; these points can then be used to upgrade or purchase a variety of things, one of which being spells.

Intermediate: Casting cost between 35 and 65 mana.
Advanced: Casting cost between 60 and 90 mana.
Ultimate: Casting cost between 85 and 115 mana.[/ul]
Mana points can be restored by use of Green or Blue potions, or through ending a thread - 50 mana points are replenished once a thread is ended. The replenishment only applies to threads that happen later along in the timeline of the character though, and may not be applied mid-battle.[/div][/PTab]

An element that controls the burning power of flames. It can manifest in several different forms, ranging from simple manipulation over flames that have already been created to the creation of burning fire storms.
The power of Fire covers Lightning as well, as well as Lava.

An element that controls the mighty power of the ocean. Its manifestation can range from controlling a source of water, to freezing it, to summoning up intense raging storms.

[PTab=Earth]
An element that allows for the manipulation of the very ground beneath a person's feet. Earth is not to be confused with Forest - this has nothing to do with plants or animals and instead deals with literal earth.
Rock and metal would also fall under the branch of 'Earth'.

An element that bears a close connection with all of Nature. Unlike the power of earth, Nature revolves around communication with animals and control and manipulation of plants.
The Forest element covers the manipulation, control, and connection with animals and plants. Poison would also fall under a Forest element.

The element of time is a tricky one - due to its extremely powerful nature its grasp and usage is incredibly difficult. Those who have the strongest control may be able to shift time up to as much as one day, but such skill is rare to find.
Along with influencing the passage of time, this element controls the element of Wind.

Shadow magic revolves around the control and manipulation of literal shadows. Moving them across the ground and pulling them out to bring them to life are just two of the possibilities that fall under this element.
Shadow magic also revolves around usage of Illusion magic.

The purist of the pure. Light magic deals with illumination of the world and with the banishment of the shadows and the evils that lie within.
Along with light, healing magic and magic that would fall under the title of 'holy' would be grouped with this element.

[PTab=Spirit]
Spirit is a fairly tricky element. It revolves around the spirit of people - Humans, Hylians, Gerudo, and the like. The element cannot 'create' spirit - it cannot create a life force - but it can see and influence the spirit of people. Use of this can allow for manipulation and control of other people, though only those who are highly skilled in Spirit can actually force another individual to act against their own free will.
